ActionAid International Guatemala, will continue and strengthen its support to peasant, men and women population, to the most excluded people, women, girls and boys and indigenous population, who are priority in our actions, and our partners, for that we will place our resources and efforts to accomplish this objective.


Expenditure By Theme


Our efforts spread in rural communities within Development Areas as well as supporting civil society projects, click on each category to view its full description:

  • Development Areas  ( 6 items )

     

    The Development Areas will be mostly in rural and indigenous population, but we’ll keep a careful viability analysis to assess interventions with other population and areas.

    Rural Area (Development Areas)

     

    There is long term cooperation in each DA and it lasts approximately 8 years. The interventions in Tacana, San Marcos and Ixcan, Quiché will finish in the following years and will be substituted by other areas, in the case of Chisec, Alta Verapaz; San Carlos Alzatate, Jalapa and  La Libertad, Peten they will continue for long time as are recent DAs. It is contemplated to increase up to a total of 6 development areas.

    Human development and poverty reports, etc., produced by United Nations, government, universities, research centers, NGO’s and ours on power, organization and contribution to social movement and, potential to change, will inform decision making in new interventions.

  • Civil Society  ( 10 items )

    The program will also have a projection of advocacy in public policies to reach thematic, sectoral and national impact, beyond the direct interventions of the development areas. The cooperation with organizations of civil society and national social movements, and with those of Meso-America, in the development of a trans-border initiative in Belize will be strengthened. We will participate and promote the interaction with social movements and initiatives of regional and global character in the context of the regional and international strategies.
